Science-led, results-driven. Controlled human studies suggest hydrogen-rich and pH-optimised waters can support exercise performance, metabolic markers, digestive comfort, and everyday home uses, from reflux protocols to pesticide rinsing, when used as adjuncts to healthy routines.
Hydrogen-Rich & Functional Waters: Evidence at a Glance
HydroLuxe systems are capable of producing multiple functional waters (hydrogen-enriched alkaline, slightly acidic/acidic, beauty water) through electrolysis technology. Research into molecular hydrogen and water ionisation is ongoing globally and continues to explore the properties of hydrogen-enriched water in various contexts.
Important Notice: HydroLuxe systems are water filtration and ionisation devices. They are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. HydroLuxe systems are designed for general water quality and hydration purposes only. Individual experiences may vary.

Ongoing Research Overview (Human studies & applied use)

Performance & Recovery

  • Time-to-exhaustion:7.7% after a single dose of H₂-rich water during cycling.

  • Perceived exertion:6.7%

  • Heart rate:1.8%

  • Post-exercise blood lactate:2.7%
    Design: randomised, double-blind, cross-over.

Metabolic Health (lipids & glucose)

  • Triglycerides:47.2 mg/dL (~30%)

  • Total cholesterol:18.5 mg/dL (~9.4%)

  • LDL-C:10.4 mg/dL (~8.4%)

  • HDL-C:4.4 mg/dL (~8.9%)

  • HbA1c: 6.1% → 5.4% (~11.5% relative reduction)

  • Fasting glucose: ↓ ~4.6%
Design: 24-week randomised, placebo-controlled adults with metabolic syndrome.

Digestive Comfort / Reflux

  • Functional dyspepsia symptoms: −34% on GSRS vs −18% with placebo after 6 weeks; sub-scales (abdominal pain, reflux, indigestion, constipation) improved; TNF-α and IFN-γ decreased. Randomised, double-blind.
    Source summary: MDPI/Processes (ResearchGate posting).

  • Reflux mechanism (in vitro): pH 8.8 alkaline water irreversibly inactivates pepsin and buffers acid better than conventional waters, supporting use as an adjunct in reflux protocols.

Inflammation & Autoimmune (pilot clinical work)

  • Rheumatoid arthritis: Oxidative stress marker urinary 8-OHdG ↓ 14.3% after 4 weeks; DAS28 improved 3.83 → 3.02; in a follow-on phase, 5/5 early RA patients reached remission.

Neurological Quality of Life (pilot RCT)

  • Parkinson’s disease (48-week RCT): Total UPDRS −5.7 points with 1 L/day H₂-water vs +4.1 on placebo (p < 0.05). Safe and well-tolerated.

Produce Rinsing / Residue Reduction (electrolysed water, applied)

  • Leafy veg & peppers/cabbage/broccoli: ~72–91% pesticide removal in ~20 min using electrolysed water (lab simulations).
Source: Food Chemistry review via ScienceDirect.

  • Dimethoate on vegetables: ~99% reduction in 10 min with slightly acidic electrolysed water; alkaline electrolysed water achieved ~40% under the same conditions → pH-specific optimisation matters.

  • Household EWDs (lemons, cucumbers, carrots): Up to 80% removal for water-soluble pesticides (malathion, fenitrothion); DDT reduced 20–40% (lipophilic residues are harder to remove).

How to use: For produce, select the acidic/slightly acidic mode for maximal residue reduction. For drinking & GI comfort, select H₂-rich alkaline modes. The two modes solve different chemistries, together they cover everyday use.
